IOSH Course Programme

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely Course is a 3 day training course which provides Managers, Team leaders and Supervisors the knowledge and skills to manage health and safety within their teams.

Entry Requirements
The IOSH Managing Safely course requires students to have a good compression of reading, spoken and written English.

Course Materials
All training material are accommodated for the training course which students will keep. Including an IOSH Managing safely workbook

Assessment
Students are required to attend all 3 days of the training course as well as actively participating throughout the course.
Failure to attend will result in not being issued with a certificate and must enrol on a new IOSH course and attend the full 3 days again.
Students will be undertaking an IOSH Managing Safely Exam which consists of a multiple choice test and a IOSH Managing Safely project displaying the student’s awareness to handle a risk assessment.

Qualification & Renewal
Passing students will receive an Official IOSH Certificate.
The IOSH qualification doesn’t have an expiry date however it is advised student take a IOSH Refresher course every 3 years to keep their knowledge up to date.

Lunch is not provided, however refreshments will be provided during the class.

How long are the certificates valid?
IOSH Certificates have no expiry date however it is advised that students take a IOSH refresher course every 3 years to keep their knowledge up to date.

What are the hours of the course?
The hours are 9am to 5pm for a 3 day course. In total, it’s approximately a 24 hour course.

Do I need any previous experience before I do the IOSH course?
No previous qualifications are needed. However experience is useful throughout the training but it is NOT a requirement.

When will I receive the IOSH Managing Safely Certificate?
If you have passed, you will receive your certificate up to 4 to 8 weeks after completion of the course.

I’m new to IOSH, where would you recommend I start?
It depends on your job role, if you are a manager, supervisor, team leader or if you are responsible for the safety of others at work in any way, then the IOSH Managing Safely course is suggested.
For other employees and keen parties, IOSH Working Safely delivers a manageable overview of safety in a workplace.

How long does an IOSH certificate last for?
An IOSH Managing Certificate and/or IOSH Working Safely Certificate is valid for life.
